PAGASA: 4 Weather Systems to Bring Rainy Weather on New Year’s Eve

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (December 31, 2024)

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that four weather systems will bring rainy weather on New Year’s Eve. 

On Tuesday (December 31, 2024), the  Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Four weather systems will affect the country’s weather condition. 

PAGASA  weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that four weather systems will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over parts of the country. Amihan, shear line, Intertropical Convergence Zone, and the easterlies will bring wet and rainy weather over some parts of the country.

The Intertropical Convergence Zone will be affecting Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan while the shear line will affect the eastern section of Northern Luzon as the northeast continues to affect the rest of Northern Luzon. 

the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Negros Island Region, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Palawan.

The easterlies will bring similar weather condition over Quezon and the rest of Bicol Region. The shear line will bring the same weather conditions over Batanes, Cagayan, and Apayao. 

“Ang shear line naman o banggaan ng mainit at malamig na hangin ay magdadala pa rin ng mga pag-ulan at maulap na kalangitan, particular na sa ilang bahagi sa may Northern Luzon,” Badrina explained. 

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region. 

The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. 

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms. 

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the northern and western sections of Northern Luzon, eastern sections of Luzon, and Visayas will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA
