PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (December 21, 2024)
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that shear line and the northeast monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Saturday (December 21, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line and amihan will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA Grace Castañeda reported that the shear line and the Northeast Monsoon are affecting parts of Luzon and Visayas.
“Patuloy pa ring umiiral ang shear line dito sa southern Luzon at Visayas kung saan magdadala ito ng mga pag-ulan dito sa malaking bahagi ng southern Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao,” Castañeda said.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Dinagat Islands.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan.
The trough of a low-pressure area will bring similar weather conditions over Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon.
The LPA’s trough will also experience similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
“Regional Services Divisions may issue Heavy Rainfall Warnings, Rainfall/Thunderstorm Advisories, and other severe weather information specific to their areas of responsibility as appropriate,” PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over eastern section of Southern Luzon, and moderate to rough in Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and the northeastern section of Mindanao will be rough. The rest of Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
