Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Process If Case To Be Filed versus Ex-Pres. Duterte
BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President spoke on the possible raps against former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and his allies.
The anti-drugs campaign of the Duterte administration is one of the most controversial issues involving the previous admin. Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte appeared before the Senate and the House of Representatives regarding the issue.
Duterte had several strong claims and revelations during the Senate and House hearings. He admitted giving orders to the cops to encourage the criminals to fight back. In both hearings, the Chief Executive expressed his desire for the police to be cleared of responsibilities over his admin’s drug war.
At one of the hearings, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte unexpectedly called on the ICC to hurry up and investigate him. He also made headlines with his gestures against some of the people who were also present at the inquiry.
Duterte has gestured as if he wants to hit De Lima and Trillanes at the House hearing. The said appearances of the former President as well as his statement during the hearings have sparked countless reports and speculations that charges might be filed against him.
Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos who has been accused by former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte of drug use spoke on the possibility that raps will be filed against his predecessor. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Chief Executive said the Department of Justice has to make an assessment.
“The DOJ has to make an assessment. May recommendation ang quad comm, ganoon naman talaga ang proseso,” the President said.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos further said that the DOJ will look at the recommendation of the quad committee and see if it is time to file charges and what case to file. Based on the report, the President said that the justice department will also determine how to produce an evidence.
“We will need to actually build the case up. Titingnan pa ‘yan, marami pang kailangan pang i-assess nang mabuti,” the Chief Executive said.
Reportedly, in the said quad comm report recommending the filing of complaints against former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the committee also suggested the filing of charges against his allies, senators Christopher “Bong” Go and Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte claimed that Sen. Sonny Trillanes was allegedly sponsored by MalacaƱang at the hearing.
