Class Suspensions for Wednesday (December 18, 2024) Due to Tropical Depression Querubin
WALANG PASOK – Various local government units in the country have declared class suspensions due to Tropical Depression Querubin.
PAGASA reported that Tropical Depression Querubin continues to maintain its strength as it moves north-northwestward over the waters east of Mindanao. It has maximum winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
The storm is expected to weaken into a remnant low-pressure area within the next 24 hours. However, its interaction with the shear line will bring heavy to intense rainfall across affected areas, raising concerns over potential floods and landslides.
Querubin’s remnant system will likely move through Mindanao, the Sulu Sea, and Palawan from Thursday to Sunday.
On Wednesday (December 18, 2024), as Tropical Depression Querubin continues to bring heavy rains to parts of Visayas and Mindanao, several local government units have suspended classes and work.
