The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) reveals the classifications of MMFF 2024 movies.
This year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is extra special as it will mark its 50th anniversary. This is an annual event highly anticipated by a lot of Filipino moviegoers to enjoy some of the best local films and moreover, it’s a Christmas season which makes the vibe a bit more lively.
This year’s edition of the MMFF, as mentioned, is particularly special. It began in 1974 and to commemorate this milestone, 10 movies made it to the list as official entries.
Recently, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) released their given classifications to the official entries. The ratings are important to protect certain groups, promote a value-based media culture, and make sure that the public is aware of age-appropriate content.
Here’s a guide:
- “G” – no need for age-verification
- “PG” – patron below 13 years old should be accompanied by a responsible adult
- “R-13” – no patron below 13 years old
- “R-16” – no patron below16 years old
- “R-18” – no patron below 18 years old.
