Family Blames Hospital in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental for Death of Grade 12 Student
A family in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, blames a hospital for the death of a Grade 12 student, claiming it failed to provide immediate medical attention.
The family of a 17-year-old Grade 12 student, known as “Eme,” expressed their grief and frustration, blaming the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for its alleged failure to provide immediate care, which they believe led to the student’s passing.
According to Roy, a motorcycle driver who accompanied Eme to the hospital, they waited outside the emergency room for over an hour. Despite Eme crying in pain and her worsening condition, the hospital reportedly did not admit her right away, insisting on waiting for a guardian or family member before providing treatment.
Roy recalled pleading with hospital staff to allow Eme to receive immediate care, fearing the student might lose her life. Unfortunately, due to strict hospital policies, they waited until a family member arrived.
By that time, Eme’s condition had worsened. Blood had started coming out of her nose and ears, and she eventually passed away.
The student’s relatives believe that Eme could have been saved if she had received prompt medical attention. They remain deeply heartbroken and blame the hospital for prioritizing its rules over the student’s critical condition.
