Nadia Montenegro and her daughter had this recent interview
Actress Nadia Montenegro had a daughter with Baron Geisler named Sophia Asistio and they spoke about the actor in a recent interview.
This issue became the talk of the town early this year after Baron mentioned in an interview that he had a daughter before having a daughter with his wife Jamie Evangelista.
With this, rumors surfaced that the actor was talking about Nadia’s youngest daughter. Then, veteran entertainment writer Cristy Fermin felt vindicated that Baron had already spoken about this because, years ago, she revealed this matter in a report but the actress sued her.
Eventually, Nadia Montenegro admitted to the public that Sophia Asistio was Baron Geisler’s daughter. In a recent interview with GMA’s Lutong Bahay host Mikee Quintos, based on the article in PEP, the actress said that she never told her daughter about her real father until she asked about this when she was 16 years old.
Nadia shared that her late husband Boy Asistio treated Sophia like his own and he requested to tell the latter about his real father when he is already gone. Sophia also shared that she talked about this to her Daddy Boy because he has a soft place in her heart.
She also said that she has no intention to change her last name. “When I see comments na parang, ‘Bakit ganito yung apelyido mo, ganito, ganyan,’ ngayon ko lang sasagutin, because like, ‘I’m very proud sa apelyido na meron ako ngayon. I take pride. And kung hindi ko siya kailangan palitan, hindi ko papalitan yung apelyido ko, guys. Hindi talaga,” Sophia said.
When Sophia was asked what she calls Baron, she said that she could not find the right term yet and when they are talking she would just say to the actor “po.”
Then, Sophia said that she also has the desire to get closer to Baron but there is still boundaries. “Siyempre, hindi ko rin ika-cut off yung ganung opportunity, baka may mahanap ako sa sarili ko na mas makabubuti pala sa akin,” she said. She was thinking that she might learn from this to help her grow as a person.
Nadia Montenegro said that she told Sophia Asistio to refrain from reading comments online. The actress knows how painful it is that the public is talking about their lives when people do not really know what was happening.
“The right time will come naman, kasi hindi naman kayang ako lang mag-isa ang gumagawa ng paraan. Hindi rin naman po puwedeng siya lang ang gumagawa ng paraan,” Nadia added.
