17-Year-Old Teenager Killed After Christmas Party Over Alleged Teasing
ANTIPOLO CITY – A 17-year-old teenager was killed after being hacked following a Christmas party due to alleged teasing.
The young man lost his life after an argument with his brother-in-law resulted in a violent incident. The incident took place at Sitio Villa Ynares, Barangay Bagong Nayon in Antipolo City after they returned home from a Christmas party.
The victim and the 24-year-old suspect, who were also co-workers, had just come back from their workplace’s Christmas celebration. Both had been drinking and what started as a playful teasing session upset the older man, leading to an intense confrontation.
“Itong magkasama sa trabaho dumating mula sa kanilang Christmas party. Nagkaroon ng pagtatalo, nataga ng suspek ang biktima. Nakausap pa ng nanay [‘yung biktima] bago tuluyang madala sa ospital, na-narrate niya ‘yung pangyayari kung sino gumawa noong sa kanya at sinong nanaga,” Antipolo Police Chief of Investigation and Operation Section.
Inside their home, the teen was sitting and using his phone when the suspect suddenly attacked. Angry and feeling threatened, the brother-in-law kicked the teen, grabbed a nearby bolo, and repeatedly struck him, causing severe injuries to his head, chest, and arms.
“Nakarating na po sila sa loob ng bahay, nagkaroon pa sila ng asaran. Sabi ng biktima, pabiro ‘tagain kita dyan eh’. Dinibdib ng suspek. Nag-advance ang isip ng suspek na unahan na. Pagpasok niya sa bahay ung biktima nagcecellphone katabi ‘yung itak. Inunahan na niya, sinipa niya biktima, initak niya, sinaksak sa dibdib at tinaga. Naputol ang kamay,” Joseph Delos Santos, the victim’s uncle said.
The teenager was rushed to the hospital but didn’t survive due to the extent of his wounds. At first, the suspect claimed he acted in self-defense, saying the teen had threatened him with the bolo.
However, further investigation showed his story didn’t match the evidence. Family members of the victim later revealed that the suspect admitted he had been drinking and had taken illegal drugs before the incident.

The suspect was turned over to authorities by his own relatives and now faces murder charges. The victim’s grieving family is calling for justice and struggling to accept the loss of a young life.
