Dennis Trillo did these things for his role in his MMFF 2024 entry
Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo said that with his years in the entertainment industry, he needs to present something new to his audience.
Dennis has been in the entertainment industry for many years already. He has done different roles in teleseryes and movies that proved his versatility. This year, the prominent drama actor showcased his comedic side through his funny TikTok videos that many netizens found amusing.
This year, Dennis is one of the biggest stars in Philippine showbiz whose movie became part of the 50th anniversary of the Metro Manila Film Festival.
A media conference was recently held for Dennis Trillo’s Green Bones. Based on the article in Bandera, this movie is produced by GMA Pictures, GMA Public Affairs, and BrightBurn Entertainment, the actor production company with his wife actress-singer Jennylyn Mercado.
In an interview, Dennis shared that one of the biggest challenges he faced for this movie was to learn sign language. Because of his trauma, he chose not to speak and just communicate with people through hand gestures and his eyes. “Kahit tinginan pa lang, naiintindihan mo na kung ano ‘yung gustong ipahiwatig ng kuwento,” Dennis shared.
His character, Domingo Zamora, is imprisoned for murdering his sister. Aside from sign language, the Kapuso actor also had his weight loss in order to make it realistic that he is portraying a drug addict character who committed a crime.
He did all these efforts to present a different Dennis. “Kailangan lang mag-effort kasi ang tagal ko na dito sa industriya, kailangan may maipakita naman akong bago,” the Kapuso actor said.
Meanwhile, Dennis Trillo is also happy that he and Jennylyn Mercado were included in this movie project as producers. They feel lucky that their first producer project is Green Bones. The actor shared that right now, many projects are being pitched to their production company and they are hoping that more beautiful collaborations will happen in the future.
