Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s Office Expresses Gratitude to Sen. Imee Marcos, Supporters of OVP
DUTERTE’S OFFICE – The Office of the Vice President thanked Senator Imee Marcos for helping the OVP which came amid the Bongbong-Sara issue.
It is no secret to the public now that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ relationship has turned sour. There has been several instances when the Vice President threw tirades against the Chief Executive.
Previously, Vice Pres. Duterte also claimed that she and Pres. Marcos did not really start as friends. According to her, they only talked about the campaign and work and her friend is really Senator Imee Marcos, the sister of the President. Pres. Marcos admitted he’s dismayed by Vice Pres. Duterte’s remarks.
However, countless people were surprised when Duterte claimed she has told the Senator that she will exhume the body of Marcos Sr. and throw it into the West Philippine Sea if the alleged attacks against her don’t stop.
Sen. Imee Marcos chose to move on from the statement of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. She stressed that she does not want enemies so she can be with any group. Prior to it, she refused to be under any alliance for the 2025 Midterm Elections.
Amid the ongoing feud between Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, Sen. Imee Marcos helped the Office of the Vice President. It was when the OVP chief-of-staff, Attorney Zuleika Lopez, was confined in the hospital.
The House panel cited Lopez for contempt during a hearing and ordered her detention in the lower chamber. Duterte also visited Lopez and spent the night at the House after her request to join her during detention was denied.
Atty. Zuleika Lopez fell ill and was rushed to the hospital. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Duterte’s office thanked Sen. Imee Marcos for securing a Department of the Interior and Local Government order that allowed the Vice President to be with the OVP Chief-of-Staff at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).
Sen. Imee Marcos has also reportedly visited Atty. Zuleika Lopez during her confinement at the VMMC. Based on the report, aside from Marcos, Vice Pres. Duterte’s office also thanked everyone who supported and helped the OVP amid the “crisis”.
“Nagpapasalamat ang Tanggapan ng Pangalawang Pangulo sa lahat ng mga tumulong, sumuporta, at nagpaabot ng pakikiisa at pagdamay sa opisina nang humarap ito sa krisis at kagipitan kamakailan,” the OVP said.
Recently, Vice Pres. Duterte attended a gift-giving activity where she said she won’t forgiven even if it is Christmas. Her admission came amid a call to the Filipinos to be “forging, giving, and loving”.
