Pastor Apollo Quiboloy Speaks on Appeal over his Transfer to Pasig City Jail
APOLLO QUIBOLOY – The camp of the Pastor think that it is probably useless to continue with the appeal on his transfer to the Pasig City Jail.
Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder and leader Pastor Quiboloy is currently in the hands of the authorities. It was early in September when the Philippine National Police or PNP authorities arrested Quiboloy after a few weeks of intensified search operations.
Several charges were filed against Pastor Quiboloy but he was in hiding for several months as well. Following the release of an arrest order, the PNP did intensified search operations at the KOJC compound in Davao City.
The PNP search operations inside the KOJC compound in Davao City reportedly included drilling operations. The intensity of the search ops hooked different reactions from the people as well as known individuals.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte who is close to Pastor Quiboloy apologized to the KOJC members for seeking their support for now Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to her, she was on a mistaken belief of unity and continuity.
Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is close to the Duterte family. The Pastor is a friend and spiritual adviser of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The Court has recently granted the medical furlough request of Pastor Quiboloy. He was previously brought to the hospital due to irregular heartbeats and chest discomfort. However, after it, the Pastor was transferred to Pasig City Jail.
Quiboloy was initially detained in the PNP Custodial Facility in Camp Crame. Previously, his camp expressed a plan to appeal for a house arrest but it earned negative criticisms from many people.
The camp of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy also filed an appeal on the order of the Court for the transfer of the detained KOJC Founder to the Pasig City Jail. However, based on a report on GMA News, the camp of the Pastor thinks of withdrawing the appeal.
“But it turned out maybe it’s useless to fight it. Parang gusto ata talaga ng prosecution doon siya. So we’ll just, you know, take it as it is,” Atty. Israelito Torreon said.
According to the lawyer of the Pastor, the Pasig Court has yet to act on the motion for reconsideration that they have filed with regards to Quiboloy’s transfer to Pasig City Jail. Based on the report, Atty. Torreon stressed that they are after the security of the Pastor.
“’Yun nga kasi we might be wasting a lot of papers if we insist on our ano sana— Ang sa amin naman yung security niya. We felt before that he would be more secured in Camp Crame given the security threats against him,” the legal counsel of Pastor Quiboloy said.
