Apollo Quiboloy Surrenders as PNP Issues 24-hour Ultimatum

APOLLO QUIBOLOY – Pastor Apollo Quiboloy surrendered as the Philippine National Police (PNP) issued a 24-hour ultimatum.

Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy surrendered after receiving a 24-hour ultimatum from the Philippine National Police (PNP), the police reported on Sunday.

During a brief press conference at Camp Crame, where Quiboloy was brought, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo explained that the police issued the ultimatum, warning that authorities would enter a building within the KOJC compound in Davao City if he did not comply.

Negotiations began around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Quiboloy surrendered to the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) around 5:30 p.m., along with Jackielyn Roy, Ingrid Canada, Crisente Canada, and Sylvia Cemañes.

They were flown out of Davao at 6:30 p.m. and arrived at Villamor Airbase by 8:30 p.m. They reached Camp Crame in Quezon City around 9:10 p.m. for booking.

“Na-inspect na rin po sila at nasa maayos naman po silang kondisyon, although some of them, based po doon sa medical examination, ay mataas po ‘yung BP [blood pressure] pero other than that, okay naman po sila at tuluy-tuloy po ‘yung processing,” Fajardo said.

Fajardo confirmed that all the suspects were informed of their charges in the presence of legal counsel. Quiboloy faces charges related to child abuse, s*xual abuse, and qualified trafficking.

“Pinagtulungan po ito that led to the peaceful surrender po ni Pastor Quiboloy at apat pa, at nagpapasalamat po tayo doon sa naging mapayapa pong… at least nitong prosesong ito,” she added.

As for their detention, Fajardo said arrangements were still being finalized, and they would likely be held in separate facilities. The warrants of arrest are expected to be returned to the courts on Monday, September 9.
