Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on NBI Probe amid Issue w/ Pres. Bongbong Marcos
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President expressed her belief that the Marcos government wants to access her properties and assets.
The recent remarks of Vice Pres. Duterte has sparked countless headlines. Many Filipinos have also reacted to her deteriorating relationship with Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Undeniably, it is something that the BBM-Sara supporters did not see coming.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte made a victorious tandem in the Elections 2022. However, many people were surprised when Duterte resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd) this year and started speaking against Marcos Jr.
Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that Pres. Marcos allegedly does not know how to be a president. When asked to rate the Chief Executive’s governance in a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, the Vice President did not hesitate to give him a “one”.
Duterte also claimed that she has allegedly never heard Marcos discussing a solution to a problem of the country. She also recently threw remarks that seemingly ignited threats on the lives of the President, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Several key authorities in the government affirmed an investigation on the remarks of the Vice President. It is viewed as a threat by many entities and individuals. The Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed that they will investigate the statement of the Vice President.
On its case, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) issued a subpoena for Vice Pres. Sara Duterte urging her to explain her statement against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The Vice President is requested to appear at the NBI headquarters on Friday.
However, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the Marcos government allegedly wants to access her properties and assets. Based on a report on GMA News, she claimed that the government is allegedly using a “playbook” similar to what was done against former Negros Oriental Representative Arnie Teves.
Arnie Teves remains in abroad. He is accused as the alleged mastermind behind the slay of Governor Roel Degamo. Based on the latest update, Arnie Teves remains in Timor Leste as the extradition case against him undergoes a new trial.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that what the government is doing to her is similar to what it has allegedly done to Arnie Teves. According to her, there will be cancellation of passport and the placing of an individual’s name on the Interpol red notice and anti-money laundering charges will be filed.
“Ifre-freeze nila yung pera at properties mo. Hindi ka makakagasto ng pera at hindi ka makakapasok sa properties mo,” the Vice President said on the ‘Arnie Teves playbook” that the Marcos government is allegedly doing on her.
The Vice President further claimed that a search warrant may be issued and the authorities can search the properties of the accused. Based on the report, she believes that the authorities are allegedly finding a way to file charges against her over her remarks.
“I believe pipilit nilang talaga gawan ng kaso yung mga remarks ko,” the Vice President said.
Vice Pres. Duterte said that she and Pres. Marcos have reached a “point of no return”. She also claimed that they wanted to remove her from office.
