Man Declared Dead Suddenly Wakes Up Before Cremation

India Man Wakes Up Before Cremation

A man in India who was declared dead suddenly showed signs of life just before he was about to be cremated.

On November 21, 2024 (Thursday), a 25-year-old man identified as Rohitash Kumar from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, had some health issues that affected his speech and hearing. He collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

No autopsy was done to confirm the cause of death, so his family proceeded with the funeral arrangements. “Prepared the postmortem report without actually doing the postmortem, and the body was then sent for cremation,” hospital chief medical officer D. Singh said.

Following Hindu customs, Kumar’s body was taken to the cremation site. Just as the fire was being lit, people noticed his body began to move. Moments later, he started breathing and even managed to speak.

“Shortly before the pyre was to be lit, Rohitash’s body started movements, he was alive and was breathing,” Singh added.

Kumar was immediately taken back to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, despite the miraculous moment, he passed away the next day. The incident raised serious concerns about how the hospital handled the situation.

Three doctors from the Bhagwan Das Khetan district hospital who declared Kumar dead were suspended, and the authorities have launched an investigation to figure out what went wrong.

Action will be taken against those responsible. The working style of the doctors will also be thoroughly investigated,” he explained.
