In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN, Heart Evangelista revealed that she received negative comments.
“Felling ko, isa ako sa mga unang chinita noong time na ‘yun. In fact, I remember I felt so discriminated kasi may nagsabi sa akin na hindi ako puwedeng mag-telenovela kasi masyado raw maliit ‘yung mata ko. Hindi raw makakapag-express,” Heart said.
She admitted that hearing these comments hurt her as she felt that she did not have bigger eyes. This prompted her to think that she should change her look and that she needed to be a mestiza. She thought that in order to get a role, she had to look a certain way.
Despite those negative comments, Heart stressed that nothing has changed but what she thinks about things. For her, a person is different for a reason.
“I believe the only thing that has changed is my mindset. Everything else remained the same. I was able to embrace my features, who I am, and who I was when I was more confident. I witnessed how it made such a significant impact,” Heart said.
Meanwhile, Heart Evangelista shared that even though she has a lot of projects abroad, especially when it comes to her career as a fashion influencer. She said that she loves the Philippines and her following is her. The Kapuso actress stressed that she has no intention to leave the county as this is her home and the place where her dreams came true.
“Everything else outside is a little cherry on top pero ito talaga ‘yung kabuuan ng career ko. They support me. I support them,” she added.
