This is what Marian Rivera said regarding the success of “Hello, Love, Again”.
Kapuso superstar Marian Rivera has this reaction to the overwhelming success of “Hello, Love, Again” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards.
The return of Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards to the big screen in “Hello, Love, Again” has scored record-breaking figures. This is the sequel to the blockbuster film “Hello, Love, Goodbye” which was released in 2019 and later on became the highest-grossing Philippine film of all time with a total revenue of Php 880 million.
However, in 2024, this record was surpassed by the film “Rewind” starring real-life married couple and GMA superstars Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. This film which was an official entry of the MMFF 2023 received recognition from award-giving bodies like Box Office Entertainment Awards and PMPC Star Awards.
Ahead of the release of “Hello, Love, Again”, it was already deemed not just to be a blockbuster hit but also one of the best Filipino movies of all time. Based on the last update, the movie is being shown in more than 1000 cinemas worldwide.
This film recorded the widest release of a Filipino film earning Php 85 million on the first day and Php 70 million on its second day. It also set the record for a Filipino film’s opening in the United States and Canada with US$2.4 million in earnings from the first week.
This is one of the top 10 grossing movies in the US and the closing film for the Asian World Film Festival. Last November 18, in the Philippines alone, it already hit the Php 566 million mark at the box office.
With the continued success of the film, the current holder of the highest-grossing film in the Philippines, Marian, reacted to this. The Actress of the Year by Esquire Philippines expressed her heartfelt congratulations to Bernardo and Richards.
“Congratulations sa kanila!” she quipped and was in high hopes that more locals would support local films. This is, especially, due to the notable increase in the number of moviegoers following “Balota” and the recently released KathDen movie.
“Sana’y ipagpatuloy ng mga Pilipino ang pagsuporta sa kapwa natin,” she said and expressed her hope that this momentum could be extended until the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival.
As of this writing, many experts are positive about the possibility that “Hello, Love, Goodbye” will break the record of “Rewind”.
