PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Monday (November 18, 2024)
PAGASA UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Pepito has weakened into a typhoon as it crosses Luzon.
On Monday (November 18, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Typhoon Pepito will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that Pepito was still a super typhoon when it made its second landfall on Luzon but weakened as it hits the mountainous island. It has maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and up to 160 kph.
Pepito will bring moderate to heavy rains over Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Zambales, Cagayan, Aurora, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Batanes, and Isabela.
The typhoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, and the rest of Central Luzon.
The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the remaining parts of the country.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the seaboards of Batanes, western seaboard of Ilocos Norte; the seaboards of Ilocos Sur and Isabela; the eastern seaboard of mainland Cagayan will be very rough.
The seaboards of Babuyan Islands; the remaining seaboard of mainland Cagayan, seaboards of La Union; the western seaboard of Pangasinan, the seaboard of Aurora and northern Zambales will have rough surrounding sea conditions.
“Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels,” PAGASA said.
Typhoon Pepito is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility by Monday morning or noon. Pepito was the sixth storm in the past month to hit the country.
