Pres. Bongbong Marcos Leads 49th Philippine National Prayer Breakfast
BONGBONG MARCOS – Amid the Philippines braving several storms, the President called for unity among the Filipinos and asked the people to pray.
This year, several typhoons that carried heavy rains and strong winds hit the Philippines. To recall, one of them is severe tropical storm Kristine which left several areas in the country under a State of Calamity.
Severe tropical storm Kristine which hit the Philippines last month left several areas including the Bicol region flooded. In Naga, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo and the local government unit of Naga appealed for help as the flood in low-lying areas has reached roof level.
Many residents of Naga were stuck in the roof of their houses for several hours. Pumpboats were needed. Pres. Bongbong Marcos admitted his hope that the government can do more in terms of helping the typhoon victims.
After severe tropical storm Kristine, super typhoon Leon and typhoon Marce hit the Philippines. They also brought heavy rains and strong winds in several areas in the country. They are followed by three (3) typhoons — Nika. Ofel, and Pepito.
Typhoon Pepito displaced thousands of families in several areas in the Philippines. Catanduanes is one of the places severely hit by the natural calamity.
Recently, amid the Philippines braving storms, Pres. Bongbong Marcos called on the Filipinos to unite and pray. Based on a post, the Chief Executive led the 49th Philippine National Prayer Breakfast (PNPB) at the Heroes Hall in Malacañan Palace today.
“Our collective faith and prayer to the Almighty is the most powerful tool that we have to weather these storms and the destruction that they bring,” Pres. Marcos said.
The Chief Executive stressed that the vision of the Philippine National Prayer Breakfast is to “unite in the spirit of Christ, shaping our lives according to God’s will, and working together to bring about the realization of God’s reign in the Philippines”. He also called on the leaders to renew their commitment to service.
Marcos Jr. stressed that the world and the Philippines are faced with several factors that bring divisiveness such as politics, beliefs, and even cultural differences. He called on the Filipinos to renew the pledge in seeking Divine wisdom and building bridges where there are gaps.
Previously, amid the face of three (3) typhoons, Pres. Bongbong Marcos assured the Filipinos that the government is prepared for 3 cyclones.
