Security Guard Arrested After Caught Attempting to Steal Parked Motorcycle in QC
A security guard in Quezon City was arrested after attempting to steal a parked motorcycle along Aurora Boulevard on Monday (November 4, 2024).
The CCTV footage shows a man carrying a motorcycle helmet, casually walking toward an establishment, and later mounting a parked motorcycle. He then started to push the motorcycle with his feet, attempting to ride off with it.
The motorcycle’s owner, Dion Mark Cuevas, had left his vehicle parked nearby while he enjoyed a game of billiards with friends. Cuevas mentioned that he was getting ready to head home when he realized his motorcycle was missing, leading him to alert the authorities.
“Naglaro-laro lang po tapos kumain kami ng mga kaibigan. Pauwi na po ako noon e tapos napansin ko na wala na yung motor ko,” Cuevas said.
With the help of CCTV footage, officers from the Quezon City Police District’s Anti-Carnapping Unit (DACU) tracked down and apprehended the suspect. They found him with the stolen motorcycle on Imperial Street in Barangay E. Rodriguez.
Police Executive Master Sergeant Dennis Telen, Chief Investigator for DACU-QCPD, explained that the backtracking of surveillance footage played an important role in locating and arresting the suspect.
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang ating backtracking hanggang sa mahuli siya sa may Imperial Street ng Barangay E. Rodriguez. Kung saan nabitbit ang nasabing motorsiklo,” Telen said.
The suspect admitted to the theft, explaining that he was in a difficult financial situation. He stated that he had sold his own motorcycle on November 2 and had been searching for a way to get it back.
He admitted to choosing this particular motorcycle because it had no lock or key, making it an easier target.

The suspect will face charges for violating the Anti-Carnapping Law, and authorities have emphasized the importance of securing vehicles properly to prevent similar incidents.
