PAGASA releases a Typhoon Marce Update and its effects on the various parts of the country.
TYPHOON MARCE UPDATE – It has intensified into a typhoon and here are the forecast weather conditions according to PAGASA.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported previously that Marce strengthened into a typhoon from being a severe tropical storm. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was raised over 12 areas in Luzon based on its 11 a.m. bulletin.
Based on the 5 PM bulletin on November 4, these are the areas under Signal No. 1:
Luzon
Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, the northern portion of Benguet (Mankayan, Buguias, Kabayan, Bakun, Kibungan, Atok, Bokod), Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and the northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Baler, Maria Aurora)
According to the post, Marce slightly intensifies and is moving northwestward at 25 km/h. The location of the center at 4 PM was 480 km East of Echague, Isabela with the maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h and gustiness of up to 160 km/h.
The typhoon is expected to continue to intensify and may peak before making landfall over Babuyan Islands or Cagayan. It can possibly exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) region on Friday afternoon or evening.
Based on the 24-hour public weather forecast of the weather bureau, these conditions will be felt in the following areas:
- Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region due to the typhoon.
- Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Mindanao due to the trough of the typhoon.
- Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas due to the typhoon.
- Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
