Porter shared a story from her motorcycle taxi driver, who mentioned that he had to cover a passenger’s medical expenses after an accident. According to him, the passenger was sitting sidesaddle, and her skirt got caught in the bike’s chain.
This led her to fall off, resulting in a serious face-first accident. Although it happened inside a subdivision and not on a busy main road, the incident emphasized the importance of safety regardless of location.
Others pointed out that sitting with legs on both sides, instead of sidesaddle, is indeed a safer option to avoid similar accidents. However, a few users also questioned if this warning might limit women’s choices, especially if they prefer to wear skirts or dresses.
