Former Actress-Politician Maita Sanchez, ER Ejercito’s Wife, Passes Away
ER EJERCITO’S WIFE – Former actress and politician Maita Sanchez died at the age of 55 as confirmed by the former Laguna Governor.
There are individuals who ventured both the showbiz industry and politics. One of them is Emilio Ramon Ejercito III or more popularly called as ER Ejercito. He is an actor as well as a former governor of Laguna. He also married a person who has ventured both showbiz and politics, Maita Sanchez.
The marriage of ER and Maita is blessed with the lives of their six (6) children — Eric, Jet, Jerico, Jhulia, Diego, and Gabriela. She was born Girlie Javier and has served the people of Pagsanjan, Laguna for more than a decade.
However, currently, the Ejercito family and the people of Pagsanjan, Laguna are mourning the death of Maita Sanchez. ER Ejercito’s wife died at the age of 55 and her death was announced by the former Laguna Mayor on social media.
On social media, ER Ejercito announced the passing of his wife due to endometrial cancer. She died at St. Luke’s Medical Center. The former Laguna Governor highlighted the accomplishments of his late wife in politics and showbiz.
ER Ejercito’s wife was an exemplary local chief executive from 2010 to 2019 in Pagsanjan, Laguna. She brought “life, joy, and integrity into the significant programs and projects of Pagsanjan” which is now known as the tourist capital of Laguna.
According to ER, his wife has also served as vice mayor of Pagsanjan, Laguna after serving three (3) terms as mayor of the municipality. She was also elected as the LMP President of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines Laguna chapter and served from 2010 to 2016.
In his post, the former Laguna Governor also recalled that his late wife was the “favorite actress/leading lady” of the late King of Philippine Movies, Fernando Poe Jr., who was also their ninong. She starred in several films including the following:

Based on the post, ER Ejercito’s wife’s wake is held at their home at Don Porong Ejercito 1912 Ancestral Mansion in Pagsanjan, Laguna. A mass is held daily at 7PM from November 3 to November 9. The family of the late Maita Sanchez requests for prayers and mass offerings for the repose of her soul.
