Recently, Chael Solis Gabito, a Facebook user, shared a story online about one of his customers who had a bad experience with another e-bike technician. The post quickly went viral and garnered reactions from netizens.

In his post, Gabito explained that the customer had initially taken their e-bike to another technician, who charged them a huge sum of P8,500. The repairs included replacing the axle, drum brake, and tires, even though these parts were reportedly still in good condition.

Despite the costly repair, the work was poorly done, leaving the e-bike barely functional. The customer reported that after the repair, the e-bike had several issues.

The axle, which was designed for cargo bikes, didn’t fit properly, leaving gaps in the gearbox that made it impossible to secure the bolts. This caused the bike’s components to be loose and difficult to move, severely affecting its acceleration and overall performance.

When Gabito took a look at the e-bike, he found the real problem: the axle nut was the only part that needed adjustment. He restored the original parts without replacing anything and charged only P500 for the home service.

The e-bike was back to normal, running smoothly without any of the issues it had after the previous technician’s work. Gabito reminded e-bike owners to be cautious when choosing a technician.
