Amid the efforts of the organization of Leni Robredo, Willie Revillame gave out this donation
Tropical Storm Kristine left thousands greatly affected and Willie Revillame personally handed his cash donation to Leni Robredo.
The Office of Civil Defence (OCD) reported that 81 deaths have been recorded in the Philippines caused by Tropical Storm Kristine (Trami). Among the most devastated is Bicol Region and among the heads when it comes to delivering help and relief operations is Angat Buhay, an NGO headed by former Vice President Leni Robredo.
The figure, however, is still “subject to validation” if the storm attributes these deaths. The number of missing persons has risen to 34, and most are believed to be trapped by the landslides.
Robredo’s Angat Buhay partnered with Kaya Natin! Movement for Good Governance and Ethical Leadership and initiated a donation drive. As of 5 PM of October 26, the cash donation received reached over Php 22.8 million. All of these will go to the relief operations to help the people devasted by the severe tropical storm.
Recently, one of the famous figures who personally handed in his donation to the former vice president is senatorial aspirant Willie Revillame. The donation is Php 3 million and Revillame and Robredo met in person. The donation is for the victims of Kristine.
“Nagpapasalamat po tayo kay Willie Revillame na kusang-loob na pumunta sa atin at nagbigay ng very generous na donasyon para sa mga kababayan nating nasalanta ng bagyo,” says Robredo.
Meanwhile, apart from Angat Buhay, several companies have also stepped up to help victims of the severe tropical storm Kristine.
The Office of the President (OP) also provided Php 80 million in financial assistance. A check worth Php 30 million has been given to Naga City Mayor Nelson Legacion and Php 50 million to acting Albay Vice Governor Baby Glenda Ong-Bongao.
