PAGASA Says Severe Tropical Storm Kristine to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the trough of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (October 26, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Severe Tropical Storm Kristine will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Severe Tropical Storm Kristine will affect parts of Luzon even after leaving the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

“Patuloy nating minomonitor itong dalawang bagyo sa labas ng ating Philippine Area of Responsibility. Una itong Severe Tropical Storm na may international na Trami o dating si Kristine, so nakalabas na ito ng PAR kahapon alas 2 ng hapon,” Weather Specialist Daniel James E. Villamil said.

Kristine was last spotted 630 km west of Bacnotan, La Union, packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 115 kph. It is moving westward at 20 kph.

The trough of Kristine will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Occidental Mindoro and Palawan.

The Southwesterly Windflow will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Kong-rey was spotted 1,825 km east of Central Luzon. it has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

The weather agency has advised the residents of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
