No one will be left behind says President Bongbong Marcos after Kristine battered the Philippines.
President Bongbong Marcos assured the people that help was delivered to people and more to come to those who were affected by the storm.
Severe Tropical Storm Kristine exits Luzon landmass via Ilocos Sur early Thursday afternoon, however, rain is still far from being over. To recall, Kristine made landfall at 12:30 am on Thursday in Divilacan, Isabela.
Among the hardest-hit regions is the Bicol Region and the severe tropical storm triggered heavy rain and strong winds leaving several areas across the country flooded. It submerged villages, forced millions to evacuate, claimed lives, and injured several. One example was the old man who got trapped in his house and was already dead when the rescuers found him.
With thousands of people in need due to the effects of the storm, President Bongbong Marcos made an assurance that help was now on the way. In a statement, the president expressed that they have been extracting efforts to deploy relief, recovery, and rehabilitation to the Bicol region.
He assured the people that no one will be left behind in this difficult time caused by a natural disaster.
“Sa mga minamahal kong kababayan na apektado ng bagyong ito, o may mga kapamilya o minamahal na naninirahan sa mga lugar na direktang tinamaan: dumating na ang tulong sa maraming lugar, paparating na ang tulong sa iba pa, ipagkakaloob ang buong saklolo, at walang sinumang Pilipino ang maiiwan,” he said.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), over 2 million people were affected by the severe tropical storm.
Based on the recent bulletin from PAGASA posted at 10 PM on October 24, another Low Pressure Area is being monitored within the state weather bureau’s monitoring domain. It has a low potential to develop into a Tropical Depression within the next 24 hours.
