Sen. Risa Hontiveros Says Investigation over Quiboloy Issues Comes To End

RISA HONTIVEROS – The Senator spoke on the conclusion of the investigation of the issues surrounding Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

A month ago, the Philippine National Police or PNP authorities arrested Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, the founder and leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ who is surrounded by issues and accusations. The PNP’s search operations reportedly include drilling operations inside the KOJC compound. The Pastor was in hiding for several months already and there are charges against him not only in the Philippines but as well as abroad.

According to Attorney Israelito Torreon, the legal counsel of Quiboloy and the lawyer of the KOJC as well, what the Pastor did is an “utimate sacrifice”. The lawyer claimed that the Pastor could no longer bear to see what is happening inside their church and to the members.

The Court agreed for Quiboloy’s attendance in the Senate hearing. Recently, Sen. Risa Hontiveros confirmed that the investigation over the issues and accusations against the Pastor has concluded with the appearance of the accused.

“Matapos ‘yung napakaraming drama niya, sa wakas naipaharap din siya sa Senado. Dahil sa pag-umpisa natin ng imbestigasyon, ‘yung appointed Son of God, arrested Son of God na,” Sen. Hontiveros said based on a report on GMA News.

According to the Senator, the only thing they waited within seven (7) months was the appearance of Pastor Quiboloy. The lawmaker stressed that they have completed the “cast of characters” citing the Pastor and the victim-survivors.

“Wala pong katotohanan iyong kanilang mga sinabi. Maaari po sila mag-file ng kaso. Haharapin ko po sa tamang forum, sa korte,” the Pastor said.

During the hearing, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy denied the allegations against him. He even urged the complainants to file a case against him based on the report. According to the Pastor, he will face the charges in the right forum.

To the surprise of countless people, Pastor Quiboloy has filed his candidacy for senator in the 2025 Midterm Elections. Amid the denial of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Party (WPP) that they issued a Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) to the Pastor, Quiboloy revoked his CONA to run as an independent candidate for senator.

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is one of the valid candidates for senator in the 2025 Elections. His senatorial candidacy came amid his detention in camp crame.
