PAGASA Says ITCZ to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring scattered rains over parts of the country.
On Saturday (October 19, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will be affecting the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will bring Zamboanga Peninsula, SOCCSKSARGEN, BARMM, Davao Occidental, and Palawan.

“Makikita natin dito sa ating latest satellite images ang makakapal na kaulapan na patuloy na nakakaapekto dito sa bahagi ng Mindanao. Patuloy ring nakakaapekto itong Intertropical Convergence Zone,” Villamil said.
The ITCZ will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Visayas and the rest of Mindanao.
“Dahil sa ITCZ asahan natin ang mataas na tsansa ng pag-ulan ngayong araw dito sa southern at western portions ng Mindanao pati na rin dito sa bahagi ng Palawan. Sa Metro Manila at sa nalalabing bahagi ng ating bansa, makakaranas tayo ng maaliwalas na panahon sasamahan lamang yan ng mga isolated rainshowers o localized thunderstorms,” he added.

The easterlies will bring similar weather over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region. Localized thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
A low-pressure was spotted at 1,455 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon. However, it will not directly affect the country.
“At patuloy nating minomonitor itong low-pressure area sa labas ng ating Philippine Area of Responsibility. Ang latest location natin kaninang alas 3 ng umaga ay sa layong 1,455 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
