After three months, Angelica Panganiban faces another major surgery again.

While in pregnancy, ABS-CBN actress Angelica Panganiban was already suffering the symptoms of avascular necrosis or bone disease. However, she was officially diagnosed with this after her pregnancy.

She has mentioned before that as much as possible, she wanted the less abrasive approach in terms of treatment, hence, her avoidance of hip replacement surgery. Three months ago, Angelica had a core decompression surgery. She was at first relieved as the pain lessened. The healing and recovery were long processes but she endured it, however, the relief lasted shortly.

The surgery did not do good. The bone collapse on her left hip, most especially, sped up. After exhausting all the ways she was suggested, she finally decided to do the major one which is hip replacement surgery. They initially considered doing it in Thailand but apart from the time and budget, there will be dangerous side effects, such as blood clots, on her hips that will come from the pressure of flying.

They did research and decided to just do it in the Philippines since there are medical establishments here that also offer world-class services for her condition.

Now, after her hip replacement on the left side, things were fast-paced. Her takeaway from this experience is to “listen to your body” based on her new video. With her previous doctor, she was asked to endure the pain after the core decompression surgery and wait for five years before doing the hip replacement surgery.

However, she fought for it as she could no longer live with the pain. She could not imagine living a life without having to play with her daughter because her condition would put her on bed rest for most of the time. She can never cater to the idea of not doing anything when there’s still a way.

So, she did the surgery. She listened to her body.
