Recently, Reddit user named ‘ExtraHotYakisoba,’ shared a Grab Food rider’s frustrating experience after being asked to leave a popular restaurant while waiting for a customer’s order. The post garnered various reactions online.
The rider explained that while he was seated inside the restaurant, waiting for an order, a manager approached him and asked him to leave. The manager claimed that riders were not allowed to sit inside, instructing him to wait outside instead.
The rider was confused as no specific waiting area was pointed out, leaving him to stand outside while still waiting for the order, which had already taken 40 minutes. Frustrated, the rider went to the cashier to politely ask if they could speed up the order, especially since he had already been told to leave by the manager.
However, the manager responded indifferently, telling the rider that if he had any complaints, he should just file them. The rider expressed that delivery riders should be treated better, especially since they represent the customers who place orders through the app.
He also pointed out that it would be more reasonable if restaurants made it a priority to complete orders for delivery riders if they don’t want them waiting inside.
After this unpleasant interaction, the rider decided to leave without further argument, feeling disrespected by the restaurant’s staff.
