There are several issues and accusations surrounding the war on drugs of the Duterte administration. There are countless deaths that were linked to the campaign. Senator Bong Go recently spoke on the issue to defend former Pres. Duterte.

Go is a long-time aide of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte before he became a senator. In his defense of the former Chief Executive, he asked the critics why Duterte is being blamed and is all alone now when the people clapped and were in “standing ovation” whenever he would mention the drug war in his previous State of the Nation Address (SONA) for 6 years.

Recently, Sen. Bato dela Rosa expressed his plan to launch a motu propio probe into the war on drugs of the Duterte administration. Based on a report on GMA News, he is also planning to invite former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte as one of the resource persons.

Dela Rosa who chairs the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs made the statement after Go expressed his willingness to launch an investigation similar to the House Quad Committee’s probe.

“Ipapatawag natin [Duterte] at kung sinu-sino pang Cabinet member niya noon na pwede nating magiging resource person,” Dela Rosa said.

Based on the report, Sen. Bato dela Rosa believes that there is a huge chance that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte will attend the Senate inquiry if he will be invited. According to the Senator, he feels that the former President is more comfortable in the Senate than in the House.

“I don’t think na hindi siya mag-attend kung ako ang mag-imbita,” Dela Rosa said.

In June, former Pres. Duterte and Sen. Dela Rosa was invited by the House in a drug war probe but they declined to show up in the said inquiry.
