PAGASA Says Easterlies and Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Tuesday (October 15, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather expert Rhea Torres reported that the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over the eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas.
“Sa kasalukuyan po ay wala tayong binabantayan na low-pressure area sa loob at labas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility. Patuloy lamang ang pag-iral ng easterlies at nakakaapekto lamang sa silangang bahagi ng Luzon at kabisayaan,” Torres said.
The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Eastern Visayas.
“Yan pong mga kaulapan na yan most likely ninipis din yan at unti unti na pong humuhupa ang ulan na nararasan since kaninang madaling araw,” she added.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country.
“Localized thunderstorms or the sudden or brief downpours are highly possible by afternoon or evening,” Torres said
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides.
No low-pressure area was spotted within and around the Philippine area of responsibility.
Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA. No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboard.
