Mylah Roque, Harry Roque’s Wife, Leaves PH amid Pending Arrest Order
HARRY ROQUE’S WIFE – The Bureau of Immigration confirmed that Mylah Roque is now out of the Philippines amid a pending arrest order.
Currently, there are pending arrest orders against the Roque couple issued by the House of Representatives. Former presidential spokesman Harry Roque was the first to be facing an arrest order after his non-compliance to the requirements set by the lower chamber.
Roque continuously does not show up amid questions about his connections to the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) in the Philippines. His name was dragged into the issue after a letter to Roque was found in a raided hub in Porac, Pampanga.
The former presidential Spokesman was accused as the chief of the legal department of the raided POGO hub. He denied the allegations but admitted to providing legal counsel to Whirlwind Corporation, the company that allegedly leased the building to the illegal POGO.
Former presidential spokesman Harry Roque previously teased to reveal the POGO protectors in the Philippines when he was invited by the Senate for a hearing. However, it did not happen.
Last month, the House Quad Committee cited Roque in contempt for failing to submit the subpoenaed documents related to the POGOs. An arrest order was released but the lawyer could not be found.
The House QuadComm also cited Harry Roque’s wife, Mylah Roque, in contempt and ordered her arrest. However, based on a report on GMA News, Mylah Roque is now out of the Philippines.
The Bureau of Immigration confirmed that Harry Roque’s wife is now out from the Philippines. According to immigration spokesperson Dana Sandoval, she left the country on September 3.
Based on the report, it was on September 16 when an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO) was issued against the wife of the former presidential spokesman. Under it, the immigration are mandated to inform the authorities in case the subject departs the country.
House public order and safety chairperson and Laguna lawmaker Dan Fernandez said that Mylah Roque has probably left the Philippines “prior to the discussion about the requirements”. With regards to Harry Roque, there are reports about him leaving the country thus, the authorities believe he’s still in the country.
“They might feel na lilipas din tong hearing, but hindi po ganoon na sitwasyon rito,” Fernandez said.
