Senate Wants Pastor Apollo Quiboloy To Appear in Inquiry

APOLLO QUIBOLOY – A Senate panel has formally asked for the permission of two courts for the presence of the Pastor in the hearing.

One of the high-profile personalities who were arrested by the authorities this year is Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder and leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. He was in hiding for several months prior to the intensified search ops of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The PNP conducted intensified search operations at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ or KOJC compound in Davao City. It was in September when Quiboloy surrendered to the PNP authorities amid the intensified search ops inside the KOJC compound.

On his surrender, Attorney Israelito Torreon who is the legal counsel of the Pastor and the KOJC tagged it as an ultimate sacrifice. According to him, the Pastor could no longer bear the situation inside the KOJC compound and his members.

Quiboloy is currently detained in the PNP Custodial Facility. Several charges were filed against him. However, unexpectedly, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy filed his candidacy for senator in the 2025 Elections amid his detention.

According to the lawyer of the Pastor, he will be the senator for the poor and the workers. His candidacy gained different reactions from the public.

Recently, the Senate panel spoke on the continuation of the probe conducted over the complaints against Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Risa Hontiveros confirmed that they already sought the permission of the court for the presence of the Pastor during the hearing.

According to Hontiveros, the Senate panel wrote letters to Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159 Judge Elma Mendoza Rafallo-Lingan and Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 106 Judge Noel Parel to seek the permission to allow Quiboloy attend Senate hearings.

The panel has held hearings last January 23, February 19, and March 5 as per the report. The investigation stopped while the authorities were looking for the Pastor. It was in September already when he was arrested by the authorities.
