Janno Gibbs admits he has political plans
Singer-actor Janno Gibbs shared that he aspires to run for senator, but factors hindered him from filing his certificate of candidacy for the 2025 elections.
Janno has been in the entertainment industry for many years already. He belongs to a prominent showbiz clan in the Philippines. He has provided laughter and entertainment for decades through his concerts, comedy shows, and movies.
Behind his career in show business, Janno also intends to provide public service for his fellow Filipinos.
In a recent Instagram post, based on the article in Bandera, Janno Gibbs shared an art card with his photo and text that reads “Janno Para Sa Senado.”
Showbiz personalities crossing over to politics is already a common scenario in the Philippines. Many celebrities have become public servants and held high positions in the government. For the 2025 elections, many showbiz personalities, first-timers, and those seeking reelection have filed their certificate of candidacy.
Janno wanted to be in the political arena also. His political art card garnered encouragement from some netizens. Some said that they would vote for him if ever he ran for senator. However, some netizens criticized the singer-actor.
Despite his desire to be in public service, Janno did not file his COC. In a social media comment, he revealed the reasons why he did not push through with his political plans.
The singer stressed that he was not joking when he posted that “Janno Para Sa Senado” art card. He has been aspiring to be in politics and people who follow him on Instagram would know that he is politically inclined.
However, his family disapproved of his plan because they were afraid of the consequences but he is still weighing the options he has. Then, Janno Gibbs said that seeing the list of people who filed COC for senator made him think twice.
“Seeing the circus of who are running, I didn’t want to be included in a ridiculous line up. Maybe in 2028?” he wrote.
