PAGASA Says Shear Line and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that shear line and easterlies will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (October 12, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest update in the country. The shear line and easterlies will bring rains over parts of the country.

PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James E. Villamil reported that shear line and easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Northern Luzon.

Makikita natin dito sa ating mga latest satellite images itong mga makakapal na kaulapan dito sa area ng Extreme Northern Luzon ay ang patuloy na epekto ng shear line. Samantala, ito namang easterlies ay magdudulot ng mga tsansa ng kaulapan at kalat-kalat na thunderstorms ngayong araw sa eastern section ng Luzon,” Villamil said.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Batanes and Cagayan. The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon.

Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The easterlies will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the Bicol Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. The weather agency has advised the residents in these areas for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over extreme Northern Luzon, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
