BOSS TOYO – The popular content creator explained why he decided not to run in the 2025 Midterm Elections.

In 2025, there will be both local and national elections. Several individuals have filed their candidacy during the filing period set by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). The political aspirants come from different fields.

Most of the individuals who filed their Certificates of Candidacy (CoC) are those who are in politics for several years already. There is also a significant number of actors and actresses who are making their attempts to enter politics. Detained Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s filing of candidacy for senator shocked countless Filipinos.

Aside from seasoned politicians and celebrities in the showbiz industry, there are also content creators who have filed their candidacies. However, in the case of Boss Toyo who is called by many people to run for a government position, he declined to join next year’s political race.

Boss Toyo or also known as rapper and entrepreneur Jayson Luzadas is most popular for his YouTube channel Pinoy Pawnstar. He features in his vlogs the purchase of different items including collector’s items and those that were used by the popular individuals in the different fields.

Based on an article on Pep, in an interview with the Cabinet Files at the Project X fashion show of VMX, the popular content creator revealed his side why he decided not to join next year’s political race. He admitted that he is not closing his doors to politics but he wants to do it when he is ready.

“Kita mo naman, lahat ng mga kumandidato, yung mga kapwa natin content creators, nag-backlash sa kanila, maraming mga bashing,” he said.

Based on the article, Boss Toyo did not deny that there were chances of filing a candidacy for councilor in Manila or in Quezon City. There were also opportunities to run as a party-list representative but he chooses to help in private for now.

“Mas pinili ko lang munang maging pribadong tao sa pagtulong ko kasi kaya ko pa naman,” the popular content creator said.

In the case of Boss Toyo, even before the possibility of joining politics, he already has a charity work for years now. According to the content creator, it is 10 years now that he is helping in private.

Aside from the rapper-entrepreneur, another popular Filipino content creator in YouTube, Ivana Alawi, also refused to enter politics for now.
