Veteran Game Show Host Willie Revillame Speaks on Criticisms of Senatorial Bid

WILLIE REVILLAME – The “Wil To Win” host expressed his belief that a heart that is eager to help is what is more important in being a senator.

Undeniably, in the 2025 Midterm Elections, several known personalities in the other industries most especially in showbiz filed their Certificates of Candidacy (CoC). Willie is one of the showbiz celebrities who filed his CoC for senator.

Willie Revillame filed his candidacy for senator on the last day of the filing of the CoCs set by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). His decision came amid an ongoing airing of the game show that he hosts, the Wil To Win.

In the Philippine entertainment industry, Willie is one of those who gained popularity as a game show host. He was the main host of several big shows such as Wowowee and Wil Time Bigtime.

Like in the case of many other showbiz celebrities who attempted to enter politics, Willie Revillame is also faced with criticisms questioning him about his knowledge in crafting laws as he is running for senator.

However, based on an article on Pep, speaking to Deo Macalma in a DZRH program, he expressed his belief that a heart that is eager to help is more important in being in the position.

“Hindi naman kailangan meron kang alam, e. Minsan nga mas maganda pa kung wala kang alam basta busilak ang puso mo sa pagtulong,” Willie said.

The Wil To Win host also stressed that what he knows is his pursuit to better the lives of his fellow Filipinos to the best that he can. According to him, during election campaign period, the candidates speak a lot of promises but he questioned if these candidates fulfilled their promises.

“Ako, gagawin ko yan. Hindi ko na kailangan ng pera, hindi ako magnanakaw. Bakit? Natatakot ako sa Diyos, e,” he said.

Based on the article, Willie Revillame further said that he just wants to do good deeds and he won’t compete in speaking English in the Senate. He stressed that a lot of laws have been passed and many senators and presidents have finished their terms as well. He raised a question if all the laws are implemented.

Willie appealed to his critics not to judge and mock the artists who enter politics. He stressed that helping others should not be something that people will make fun of. He admitted that he also did a lot of mistakes but public service may give him a chance to do a thing for the betterment of the Filipino people.

Even prior to the election, Willie Revillame already clarified what will happen to Wil To Win after he filed his candidacy for senator.
