Third-Year Architecture Student Dubs Campus Cat ‘Professor’

Campus Cat at Palawan State University Becomes Students’ “Professor”

A third-year architecture student at Palawan State University has dubbed a campus cat a “professor” after it was spotted sitting on a teacher’s chair.

A cat is a small, friendly animal that people often keep as a pet. Known scientifically as Felis catus, cats are loved for their playful nature and independence. They communicate in different ways, using sounds and body language to express themselves.

They are obligate carnivores, which means they mainly need to eat meat to stay healthy. While they can hunt small animals in the wild, most pet cats eat commercially prepared cat food at home.

Recently, a TikTok user straw_van_ryyy shared a video of a campus cat sitting on a teacher’s chair. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and elicited reactions from the online community.

The uploader, Kyle Cayetano, explained that the cat has become a beloved presence among students, especially in the engineering and architecture departments.

The cat often hangs out in their classroom, sometimes napping under drafting tables, curling up in classmates’ bags, or even resting on Kyle’s lap. The playful feline has become a source of comfort for stressed-out architecture students.

Madalas siyang tumatambay sa room namin, minsan sa ilalim ng drafting table nakikitulog, sa bag ng kaklase ko, palda ko o ‘di kaya sa office ng UAPSA,” Cayetano said.

Cayetano mentioned that the cat has been part of their school life since her first year, frequently roaming the classrooms and brightening up the students’ days. Recognizing its value in their academic environment, the students decided to show their appreciation by giving the cat a collar and a food bowl.

“Nakatutuwa lang rin isipin na parang nase-sense niya na stress ang mga arki students kaya sa’min siya tumatambay, ang emotional support cat ng arki students,” she added.

The gesture formed a strong bond between the students and their furry friends.
