Magna Cum Laude Graduate Let His Father Wear His Toga
A Magna cum laude graduate who let his father wear his toga for a moment touched the hearts of the online community.
Recently, a heartwarming Tiktok video of a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) dedicated his graduation to his father in a unique and touching way.
Keanne Roeh Isurda, who graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies, shared a special moment with his father, Rodolfo, ahead of his graduation ceremony on October 3.
Before the ceremony, Keanne decided to let his father wear his graduation toga, a gesture that moved him to tears. Keanne explained that his father didn’t get the chance to finish his own college education, as he was an undergraduate in Mass Communication.
By letting him wear the toga, he wanted him to experience the feeling of graduating, even just for a moment.
Keanne shared that her father had always been proud of them, regardless of whether they graduated with honors or not. For him, what mattered was that his children worked hard and finished their education.
“Alam ko po kasi na hindi nakatapos si daddy sa College. Undergrad po siya sa kursong Mass Communication. Kaya ko po talaga pinasuot sa kaniya kasi gusto ko pong ma-experience niya kahit papaano na makasuot ng toga. Palagi naman po kasing proud sa amin si daddy,” he said.
However, this moment made their celebration even sweeter, as Keanne not only graduated but did so with honors. He also offered words of encouragement to other students, reminding them to set goals and remain focused on their dreams, despite the challenges they might face.
