Olivia Rodrigo Reflects on Her Emotional First Concert in the Philippines
OLIVIA RODRIGO – Filipino-American singer Olivia Rodrigo penned a heartfelt message following her sold-out concert in the Philippines.
Olivia Rodrigo shared her joy and gratitude after performing her first concert in the Philippines. Held at the Philippine Arena on Saturday night, the concert attracted a crowd of 55,000 people, making it Rodrigo’s largest show to date.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday, the Grammy-winning artist expressed how much the event meant to her. “Been dreaming of this show for a while,” Rodrigo wrote. “My first time in the Philippines and also my biggest venue ever!”
Olivia Rodrigo expressed her gratitude to her Filipino fans, noting how warmly she was welcomed. “[T]hank you to everyone Manila for welcoming me so generously and making me feel so loved and thank you to @americanexpress for making this show happen,” she said.
In addition to the concert, Rodrigo highlighted her collaboration with Jhpiego, a global non-profit organization focused on healthcare for women and girls. All proceeds from the concert, which were sold at ₱1,500 per ticket, were donated to Rodrigo’s “Fund 4 Good,” a global initiative that supports non-profits advocating for girls’ education, reproductive rights, and the prevention of gender-based violence.
“I’m SO stoked that all the net ticket sales from last night could be donated to Jhpiego through my Fund 4 Good,” Rodrigo shared. “I got to visit the organization while I was in Manila and was so impressed by the work they are doing providing healthcare to women and girls in the Philippines.”
Reflecting on the night, Rodrigo described the concert as one of the most special moments of her career, calling it an emotional and meaningful experience. “It was the most special show and the most meaningful trip,” she said. “To say I’m grateful doesn’t even cut it! Mahal kita,” she concluded, expressing her love for the Philippines.
Rodrigo’s visit and concert left a lasting impression, not only on her Filipino fans but also on the causes she supports globally.
