Lorelei Go Recalls Painful Experience of Losing All 3 Sons to Cancer

LORELEI GO – A single mother recalled in an interview with Toni Gonzaga her painful experience of losing all her three (3) sons to cancer.

Undeniably, recently, there is a huge rise in the cases of cancer in the Philippines. It can be caused genetically and there are also several other factors that can trigger the growth of this disease and the list includes unhealthy lifestyle. Many families lost a member to this disease but, in the case of Lorelei, she lost all her three (3) sons.

Recently, Toni Gonzaga interview Lorelei Go for a vlog. The single mother of three (3) young men who died to cancer could not help but still be emotional as she talked about her painful experience when she lost her sons.

According to Lorelie, she is currently focusing her attention to her granddaughter who is now 12 years old. Toni mentioned the common belief that it should be the children who will bury the parents and not the other way around.

In her case, Lorelie Go was the one who buried not just one but all her sons. All of them died before they reached 30 years old. She agreed to Toni when the actress said that it is painful to lose a son and more painful to lose two sons. On losing three sons, she said that it is too much.

Meanwhile, Lorelie is grateful that she has a relationship with God before she lost her sons. If not, she would be left with nothing to do as He has taken all her sons. Her first and second son were both 29 years old when they died while the youngest was 28 years old.

“Kung wala pa yung Panginoon sa puso ko, paano na ako?” she said.

According to Lorelei Go, her eldest son who was the first to die did not show signs of being sick. He had a huge physique. She recalled that her sons were also healthy as they were growing up.

The single mother recalled that fever was the first sign on her eldest son. He lost weight and he was brought to the hospital when there was already pain. He was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer.

The eldest son of Lorelei was married to his partner at the hospital before he died. According to her, when they went to the funeral home, she did not look at the dead body of her son.

Two (2) months after her eldest son died, they had a check-up with the doctor. That was when it was found out that there is also a cancerous mass in the liver of his second son. There was no signs.

Lorelei shared that her second son underwent an operation and a part of his liver was removed. He also had an ultrasound and it was confirmed that his liver grew again but there is a lump again.

“Naging bahay ko na ang ospital. Basta lang nila tatabi ako sa kanila,” she said.

According to Lorelei Go, since her sons were young, they use to sleep in one bed together.

Hindi rin pala maganda yung sobra kayo ka close kasi ikaw rin ang masasaktan,” she said.

She stressed that she had no idea that she will lose her son. She remembered asking to God on losing all her sons.

“Hindi mo hawak ang mga buhay ng mga anak mo… Bakit inubos mo naman, Lord?” she said.

The second son of Lorelei was a chef. He used to tell her he loves her during his final days and he was telling her to continue cooking his signature foods so everyone he knows will remember him.

On the cancer battle of her youngest son, Lorelei Go shared that her son cried when he knew about the diagnosis and decided to surrender everything to the Lord. According to her, it was too much and she cannot shout nor cry anymore even if she wants to.

During the vlog interview, Lorelei recalled that her youngest son asked her not to leave him as she might be tired already after everything they went through. She assured her son that she will never leave her.

On the death of her youngest son, she collapsed when he collapsed thus, she did not see her son being revived. They were on separate hospital rooms and when she woke up, her youngest son has died already.

Pumunta sila ng Manila na punong-puno ang pangarap nila. Tapos nung umuwi sila, ano na, naka-kabaong na sila,” she said.

Lorelei Go said that her sons had several dreams and they wanted a comfortable life for her as they already work. On the idea of seeing her sons again, she believes that she can no longer speak a word but would keep on hug and kiss her sons.
