Former Sen. Ping Lacson To Seek Senate Comeback in 2025
PING LACSON – The former Senator revealed that he will run as an independent candidate in the 2025 Elections amid being endorsed by President Bongbong Marcos.
The 2025 Midterm Election is fast-approaching. It is set on May 12, 2025. Among the elections that will be held is the senatorial election. Recently, several political parties and alliances have announced their bets in the upcoming Midterm Election.
Aside from the Liberal Party which announced the electoral race that some of their members eye in 2025, the grand alliance of the five (5) major political parties has also announced the senatorial bets of the Marcos administration.
The Lakas-CMD, the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), the Nacionalista Party, the National Unity Party, and the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) have formed an alliance. Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos announced the senatorial bets of the administration.
The senatorial slate of the administration is composed of bets from the different political parties belonging to the grand alliance. Here are the senatorial candidates endorsed by Pres. Bongbong Marcos:
- Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos,
- Makati City Mayor Abby Binay,
- Senator Pia Cayetano,
- Senator Lito Lapid,
- Senator Francis Tolentino,
- Senator Imee Marcos,
- Senator Ramon ”Bong” Revilla Jr.,
- former Senator Manny Pacquiao,
- former Senator Panfilo Lacson
- former Senator Vicente Sotto III,
- Deputy Speaker Camille Villar, and
- former Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo
Amid being endorsed by the Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas, former Senator Ping Lacson said that he is running as an independent senatorial candidate in the Elections 2025. Based on a report on Inquirer, in a statement, he stressed that he is not running as a member of any political party.
“I am running as an independent candidate, not being a member of a political party,” Lacson said.
Meanwhile, based on the report, Ping Lacson expressed his pride on being part of the bets of the grand alliance of 5 major political parties in the Philippines. He is a guest candidate of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).
According to Lacson, he has no doubt that he should be one of those who must secure a spot in the Senate in next year’s election. He stressed that he and the President share a motto — Ang tama ay ipaglaban; ang mali ay labanan.
