KOJC Supporters in Hot Water: Harassment of Police Families Sparks Legal Action
KOJC – Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) supporters who harassed cops and their families to face charges.
The Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is preparing to file legal cases against individuals who allegedly threatened police officers and their families during the manhunt for Apollo Quiboloy, the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC).
Based on a report from Philstar, Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III, the CIDG director, announced his intention to personally pursue charges of harassment and direct assault against those identified as perpetrators during the operation.
In an interview with dwPM, Torre expressed the seriousness of the situation, stating, “One of the complainants is myself because I was one of the harassed police officials,” At the time, he was leading a large-scale operation involving over 5,000 police officers in Davao City, where they were searching for Quiboloy, who faces serious allegations including qualified human trafficking and child abuse. Currently, Quiboloy is detained at the PNP Custodial Center.
Torre emphasized that while he could tolerate harassment directed at police officers, the harassment of their families crossed a line. He recounted his own family’s experience, revealing that his children faced an onslaught of hate messages on social media from Quiboloy’s supporters. “The social media accounts of my children were flooded with hate messages,” Torre disclosed.

According to the report, the situation escalated when a lawyer representing Quiboloy publicly called for Torre’s family to intervene and stop the ongoing manhunt. Torre responded sternly, stating, “They’ll involve our children and our spouses. It’s already gone overboard and I cannot allow that.” He made it clear that actions would be taken against those who harassed his family.
As a warning to the alleged attackers, Torre asserted, “We’ll bring them to court,” signaling the CIDG’s commitment to addressing these threats and protecting its personnel and their loved ones. The forthcoming legal action underscores the seriousness with which the PNP is taking these incidents amidst a high-profile case.
