PBA player John Amores was able to bail out.
Charged with attempted homicide, PBA player John Amores and his brother John Red have been released after posting bail.
John Amores once had a promising career as a basketball player. However, after incidents of rampage and recently, a shooting incident, his career is now in trouble. Amores is currently a part of the NorthPort Batang Pier.
According to multiple reports, he and his brother John Red have been released after posting bail. They got out of detention in Lumban, Laguna on Friday, September 27. This is in connection with the attempted homicide charges against them.
In a previous article, Amores was hunted by police due to a shooting that transpired after a heated exchange with another player. According to an eyewitness, Amores and the seaman were not directly involved. The PBA player came in for his brother while the seaman interrupted to defend his teammate.
“Umalis na si John, umangkas siya sa motorsiklo ng kapatid niya. Naunang umalis si John. Si Lee, nagmamadali, dumaan siya sa kabilang kalye para abangan sina John,” says the eyewitness. This led to the shooting under broad daylight and fortunately, despite firing several shots, no one got injured.
Lumban Municipal Police Station confirmed Amores surrender due to threats in his life.
A bail of Php 24,000.00 was recommended for Amores and Php 10,000.00 for his brother. Attempted homicide complaints were filed against them before the Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Lumban and the people investigating on his case already have enough evidence.
However, when a paraffin test was done on him, both of his hands tested negative but Lumban police chief PMaj. Bob Louis Ordiz stated that this does not necessarily he did not fire it. Several factors can affect the presence of gunpowder nitrate in his hands.
It could be because he was outdoors, the wind direction, temperature, and the angle of how the gun was held. A live ammunition was recovered from the crime scene but the authorities are still searching for the gun that was used.
His arraignment and pre-trial will be on December 4.
