Former Mayor Alice Guo Isolated for Possible Lung Infection
ALICE GUO – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) revealed the result of the testing of the former Mayor for TB.
Former Mayor Alice Guo was transferred to Pasig City Jail upon the order of Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC). She was moved from detention in the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Room.
At Camp Crame, Guo occupied the PNP custodial room previously occupied by former Senator Leila de Lima. It has a simple bed, a bathroom, a table with chairs, and a ceiling fan. The former lawmaker stayed in the said custodial room for 7 years.
Prior to the transfer of the former Mayor to Pasig City Jail, there were requirements complied and the former Mayor went through physical and medical examinations. Her transfer was quite delayed as the requirements were complied and it was pushed through on Monday.
However, the x-ray result of former Mayor Alice Guo showed a possible lung infection. Thus, she was not immediately placed in a detention cell with 44 inmates where she is set to be detained in Pasig City Jail.
Former Mayor Alice Guo was placed in a detention cell with three (3) inmates who are isolated and treated for tuberculosis. According to Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Joseph, the doctor said that the said inmates are treated for one month already.
Guo took a sputum test for the testing of TB. Recently, the BJMP announced the result of the testing of the former Mayor for TB. Based on a report on GMA News, the former Mayor tested negative for TB.
Following her negative result for TB, Alice Guo was set for transfer from isolation to a regular cell with the general population of 44 inmates. This morning, she was escorted to the Senate for the hearing set over the Philippine Offshore Gaming operations.
Amid the inquiries set by the Senate and the House of Representatives, Guo continuously insists that she’s a Filipino. She also denied the POGO allegations. She even claimed that prior to her arrest in Indonesia, she was already thinking about going home to the Philippines to face the complaints against her.
