Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s Office Speaks on Visit To Former VP Leni Robredo
SARA DUTERTE’S OFFICE – The Office of the Vice President (OVP) issued a statement on her meeting with former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo in Naga City.
The BBM-Sara and the Leni-Kiko tandems were among the strongest rivals in the Elections 2022. The BBM-Sara was victorious in the presidential and vice presidential polls. Amid the political rivalry, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo congratulated Vice Pres. Sara Duterte on her win.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Vice Pres. Leni Robredo were not able to work smoothly with each other. There were instances of strong tirades against each other and the Vice President was a strong critic of the war on drugs of the Duterte administration.
Meanwhile, since they exited their offices, both Duterte and Robredo have visibly left their political differences behind. Recently, countless Filipinos were delighted upon knowing about the visit of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo.
The spokersperson of former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo, Barry Gutierrez, expressed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte visited her predecessor at her house in Naga. Gutierrez expressed that Robredo was only informed minutes before the arrival of Duterte as the Vice President was already on her way upon informing them.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s office released a statement on her visit to former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. Based on a report on GMA News, the OVP said that the Vice President was invited by a Bicolano friend to attend the centennial anniversary Mass of the Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of Peñafrancia.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s office, the same friend who invited her also set a casual meeting with former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. Based on the report, the OVP also said that Duterte also visited several popular Bicol personalities and heard a mass with the Bicolanos.
“She neither looked desperate nor distressed,” the OVP said.
Sara Duterte was surrounded with several issues lately regarding the OVP budget proposal for 2025. Her office is asking for a P2 billion budget.
