Vlogger Brings Good Vibes Online for Sharing Experience of Being Mistaken for Robber
A vlogger shared his funny experience when a taxi driver mistook him for a robber during a ride in the Philippines.
Recently, Kuya Fredo, a Facebook content creator, had an amusing yet eye-opening experience when a taxi driver mistook him for a robber. The post quickly went viral and sparked various reactions from the online community.
During a visit to the Philippines, the vlogger had to go to Makati to apply for a new biometric card after losing his original one. Known for his simple style, he wore a plain black shirt, shorts, and sandals.
Accompanied by his uncle, they tried to hail a taxi from Cogeo to Makati, but several drivers refused to pick them up. Finally, an older taxi driver stopped, albeit reluctantly. Throughout the ride, Kuya Fredo noticed that the driver seemed uncomfortable, frequently glancing back at him.
When the content creator instructed the driver to take a route through Pasig, the driver finally spoke up, admitting his fear that they might be planning to rob him. He reassured the driver that he was harmless, even jokingly mentioning his residence in London.
His uncle butt in, laughing and adding that despite his nephew’s appearance, he was a kind person. To ease the driver’s concerns, the vlogger ended up hiring the driver for the entire day, paying him enough to cover his boundary.

They even picked up Kuya Fredo’s wife from their condo, much to the driver’s surprise. The two eventually became friends, and the driver now works for the Reels creator with a lower boundary rate.
Despite not experiencing discrimination in London, the latter noted that in the Philippines, he often faces judgment based on his appearance and simple attire.
