Sen. Bato dela Rosa Clarifies Intel Report that Ex-PNP Chief Involved in Alice Guo Escape
BATO DELA ROSA – The Senator asked Alice Guo in line with the intel report that a former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief was involved in her escape.
Even the lawmakers in the Senate were left wondering how Alice Guo was able to depart the Philippines although her name was on the immigration lookout bulletin and several complaints were filed against her. The Bureau of Immigration claimed that she did not pass by the immigration.
The supposed sister of Alice Guo who was detained in Indonesia and sent back to the Philippines ahead of the former Mayor, Shiela Guo, claimed that she, Alice, and Wesley left the country through “a small boat”.
Alice Guo was arrested by the Indonesian authorities. The former Mayor was turned over to the custody of the Philippine authorities. Among those who came to Indonesia for the turn over were Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Rommel Francisco Marbil and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos.
Alice Guo is now back in the Philippines. She is under the custody of the PNP after a graft and corruption case was filed against the former mayor. According to the authorities, she cannot be turned over to the Senate unless she has posted a bail.
Meanwhile, the court allowed Guo to attend the Senate hearings regarding the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in her town. However, at the hearing, Alice continuously does not confirm that she is Guo Hua Ping, the Chinese national who entered the country in 2003.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) previously confirmed that the fingerprints of Alice Guo and the fingerprints of Guo Hua Ping matched. During the Senate hearing, Sual, Pampanga Mayor Dong Calugay was also asked about his relationship with Guo.
Questions about their ties surfaced after it was found out that a staff of the Sual Mayor was the one who processed the counter-affidavit of the former Bamban Mayor although she was reportedly not in the Philippines anymore.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, there is also an intel report that a former PNP chief has helped Alice Guo in her escape from the Philippines. Regarding the intel report, Sen. Bato dela Rosa who is a former PNP chief asked Guo questions to clear his name from speculations.
During the Senate hearing, Sen. Bato dela Rosa admitted that he is concerned as he is a former chief of the PNP. He stressed that there might be a script that would accuse him of receiving money from the former Bamban Mayor.
Dela Rosa asked Guo if they have met in person, crossed paths at the Senate investigation, or took a selfie together. Guo responded in the negative. Based on the report, the lawmaker also asked Pagcor’s Security Monitoring Cluster head Raul Villanueva about the identity of the former PNP chief.
Villanueva answered that he does not have any information yet but he is sure that Sen. Bato dela Rosa is not the one. The Senator cleared himself from possible rumors ans speculations as well.
“Thank you … I’m not the one… Iyon lang, siniguro ko lang. Thank you, General Villanueva,” Dela Rosa said.
