Is it true that the show of Carmina Villarroel will bid goodbye?
Rumor has it that the Kapuso cooking talk show Sarap, Di Ba hosted by Carmina Villarroel with her children Mavy and Cassy Legaspi will end this October.
Carmina has been in the industry for many years already. The actress is happily married to 90s matinee idol Zoren Legaspi and they are blessed with a twin. She continued doing acting projects over the years but she was also given some hosting stints just like in Sarap, Di Ba which is airing every Saturday morning.
The show was first known as Sarap Diva which was hosted by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez. It started airing on October 6, 2012.
In 2018, Regine bid goodbye to the show. The seasoned singer eventually transferred to ABS-CBN. She was replaced by Carmina and the show became Sarap, Di Ba.
Mavy and Cassy were added to the show and this became a platform for them to enter the entertainment industry.
Based on the article in PEP, the production staff and crew of Sarap, Di Ba were already informed about the show’s end and that everyone was saddened by this announcement as they had all been together for 12 years already.
Reportedly, the show will be aired until October 2024 because of the taped episodes. However, GMA Network has not officially released a statement regarding this, as of this writing.
Speculations surfaced that a Kapuso variety show will take the timeslot that Carmina Villarroel’s show will vacate.
Meanwhile, Carmina is one of the lead stars in the Kapuso afternoon series Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap which also features Richard Yap, Pinky Amador, Jillian Ward, and Kazel Kinouchi. Previously, Mavy and Cassy were part of the defunct Kapuso noontime show Tahanang Pinakamasaya which used the Eat Bulaga title for a while.
